Done for a co-worker leaving Disney who hooked me up with tons of used decks to paint on when I ran out of my own. His name is Denny but everyone calls him Danny as a joke -hence the Danny on the worn out ears. This is a vintage Powell Peralta ripper deck that one was one of Denny’s first decks back in the day. I knew from the begining didn’t want to paint over it completely, so I let the areas that would have been dark on Mickey just be the original graphic of the board -scratches and all!

Custom painted 9″ Vinylmation and custom wooden box. Sold at D-Street this year during Festival of the Masters Weekend. Had fun making this little guy and shot a time lapse in my studio of the whole process. Take a look at the video below from the Disney Parks Blog for a little more on that.

I will be hand pulling these limited edition, signed and numbered, screen printed posters this year for our Festival of the Masters 2011 event at Downtown Disney in November.  I will also have some art available at the show as well, like my angry mickey skateboards and a couple of other large mickey pieces. Some sketching I did around San Francisco today.

Love walking around with my travel size watercolor Moleskin and Windsor & Newton travel watercolor set and just stopping for a few minutes here and there when something catches my eye. Watch out, you can get lost in it and next thing you know it’s been like 5 hours, but it is awesome. So take some time every now and then to stop and smell the roses– and draw them too.
